Safety and quality
Facade and roofing work is work at height on someone else's site, often beside people who are still using the building. This page sets out the rules that apply, what our record on occupied and night-time work looks like, and how a safety manager can get our documents.
From 1 July 2026, South Australia treats work where a person could fall 2 metres or more as high-risk construction work, down from 3 metres. That brings the state into line with the model WHS regulations. Each high-risk task needs a site-specific safe work method statement (SWMS), prepared with the workers and kept on site. SafeWork SA's position is that the duty to manage falls applies at any height.
Safe Work Australia's guidance for roof work ranks the controls: remove the work at height where possible, then safety mesh, guard rails, scaffold or an elevating work platform, and only then work positioning and fall-arrest systems.
On our own packages, the roof safety systems team designs, supplies, installs and certifies roof access to Australian Standards. We build plant platforms at ground level and lift them into place to reduce the risk of working at height.
We own and maintain our access machinery and lifting equipment.
Three recent jobs ran on buildings that stayed open, or at night.
Three manufacturers name us as the installer on their own websites. James Hardie does for the ExoTec facade on Central Adelaide Apartments, Fairview for the Vitracore G2 and Vitradual on the Myer Centre, and Fielders for the Prominence panels on B-Apartments.
Master Builders SA judges have commented on the workmanship in two recent citations. In 2025 they wrote that the finished NEXTDC A1 facade "was a credit to the installers", and in 2026 they cited the "precise fabrication" on the Aquatic Centre.
We run an apprenticeship program for the trades, and apprentices learn on our own projects. See training and apprenticeships.
Our WHS policy, safe work method statements, insurance certificates, licences and quality system details are available on request. We send current copies rather than publish them, so nothing you receive has expired.
