Capabilities · Commercial cladding contractors
SA Construct is an Adelaide cladding, roofing and facade contractor, founded in 2011 and based in Beverley, and a Master Builders SA award winner since 2014.
Commercial cladding is the outer wall of a commercial, civic or multi-storey building: panels, sheet or cassettes on a sub-frame, with the membrane, flashings and fixings behind them. On Type A and B buildings the NCC requires it to be non-combustible. We design, fabricate and install cladding packages for head contractors across South Australia.
Delivered on: aluminium on the Adelaide Aquatic Centre, Fairview Vitracore G2 on Myer Centre Adelaide, Fielders Prominence on B-Apartments, concealed-fix CFC on the UniSA Health Innovation Building and James Hardie ExoTec on Central Adelaide Apartments.

Other cladding work:
NCC Volume One C2D10 requires the external walls of Type A and B buildings, and their components, to be non-combustible. A material qualifies with an AS 1530.1 test, and C2D10(5) lists materials such as concrete, steel, masonry and aluminium that can be used wherever a non-combustible material is required. A bonded panel qualifies only under C2D10(6)(g), where every lamina including the core is non-combustible, and C2D15 requires every layer to be mechanically fixed. "A2" and "FR" are not NCC classes, so a label on its own proves nothing.
Weatherproofing is shown against Performance Requirement F3P1, usually with AS/NZS 4284 testing of the full wall assembly. Wind pressures come from AS/NZS 1170.2. Where a design sits outside the Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions, the fire engineer's performance solution usually relies on AS 5113 system testing.
Polyethylene-core ACP has no Deemed-to-Satisfy path on these walls. If it is already on your building, see replacing ACP on an existing building.
Questions
For Type A and B construction, NCC Volume One C2D10 requires external walls and their components to be non-combustible. A material passes with an AS 1530.1 report. C2D10(5) also lists materials such as steel, aluminium, concrete and masonry for use wherever a non-combustible material is required. Bonded panels pass only under C2D10(6)(g), with every lamina including the core non-combustible, and each layer mechanically fixed to C2D15.
NCC Volume One has no Deemed-to-Satisfy path for facade weatherproofing. Performance Requirement F3P1 applies, and it is usually verified with AS/NZS 4284 testing of the full assembly, including the membrane, cavity battens and flashings. The installed wall has to match the tested build-up.
Architectural elevations and details, and the specification with the fire and weather evidence it requires. Add the structural drawings for the substrate and the facade engineer's report if there is one. The construction programme, crane and access assumptions, and any Section J or acoustic requirements complete the set.
We fabricate aluminium, steel and sheet metal at Beverley: CNC machining, welding, extrusion, sheet rolling, plasma cutting, flashings and cladding profiles. Proprietary panel systems come from their makers. Vitracore G2 came from Fairview on the Myer Centre, and ExoTec from James Hardie on Central Adelaide Apartments.
